    Hi Joe,

I just drop by to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Aris Tanone and I'd like to thank Joe for allowing my posts to be listed in Blog Carnival.

Long time ago, when I was a little kid, I thought, someone was very old if s/he was in his/her 60th. Now, I'm one year away and I still could finish running the 5K-run while one year or so ago I was a couch potato. The only think I could say is, thanks God I'm here now.

That's all for now and I will visit this forum from time to time.

    Thanks,

    Aris/

    Hey drt,
Welcome to the Forum. I appreciate yuor participation both here and in the Blog Carnival.
I know what you mean about but when I was a kid only Grandparents were in their 50's & 60's. Then again, we may very well be those same "Grandparents" ourselves now.
You are welcome here anytime, next time bring some friends and we'll have a party.

Hi all I'm Terry W. Clark and was born in April 1946 in Dayton, Oh. Although I don't live there now. I live in Mesa, Az. and have for 28yrs. I still work a full time job as a tool maker. Hopefully I'll retire next spring on my b-day. As long as things go right.

Like most I just can't believe how time has passed by. Seems like yesterday I graduated from high school and now it's time to move on to our golden years. I remember when my dad retired so many years ago. Just don't seem possible for us, does it.

    Hey Terry,
Welcome to the Forum. I have no plans to retire personally since I am self employed. Slow down a bit, probably, but I doubt I'll ever take the plunge and actually retire.
I know what you mean about the time flying by, it seems like yesterday that I was in school and enjoying all the nightlife way back when.
Hope to see you around here often.

    Thanks Joe

Hopefully I'll be able to post some more soon. I've been working some overtime lately and don't seem to find the time to post much, but I'm going to start. Like meeting new friends from all around the country.

    Where are you located?

    Terry,
It's always nice meeting new friends, even virtually, can never have too many friends in my opinion.

    Hi Joe,
Glad to see that I not the only Baby Boomer blogger. I am a late boomer being born in 52 however I am proud to be one. I started our blog http://babyboomerslifestyle.org about a month ago. I have two really talented and well respected authors who are internationally recognized health professionals writing for me. I guess I wanted a high quality site for our generation to go to for pertinent information. I am also in Ohio. I need to get to Philly for a great cheesesteak. Anyway for the last 5 years I have been taking care of my 97 year old father. Part of being a boomer,in my mind is being a caregiver for our elderly parents. I re-designed portions of my house to conform with "Universal Design" concepts which basically means having access for the handicapped especially wheel chair access. I am so glad I did because not more that 4 months later my father was wheel chair bound and it worked out great.

Don't know if other boomers are in my situation but if they are all they need to do is post here and I can give them the tips that I learned the hard way.

    Thanks again Joe

    Hey Mudman,
Welcome to the BB comunity. I didn't have to deal with wheelchairs too much with either of my parents. Some, but only outside the house.
If you're a late boomer from 52, I must be even later boomer at from 53. Either way, I think we both qualify.

    Hi there, fellow baby boomers!

Just joined this site within the past hour - I found it by accident actually while I was looking for something else.

My name is Bob McDowell, I'm 60 years young and I live in Discovery Bay, California with my 2nd wife of 23 years. I have 3 grown kids (2 sons & 1 daughter) and 11 grandkids (6 girls and 5 boys)

Like many of you have stated in your posts, I truly don't know where the time has gone either! I remember going to my 40th high school reunion in 2008, and what caught me off-guard initially was that there were all of these OLD people there! LOL!

I have NO plans of retiring either. I've been self-employed for many years as a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in treating adolescent & adult survivors of childhood sexual trauma and abuse, as well as other PTSD-related issues.

After closing my private practice in 2003, I became certified as a family and divorce mediator, and have been doing that ever since. It can be challenging at times, but I absolutely LOVE what I do, and I plan to do it till I drop dead, or until I lose my mind completely....whichever comes first I suppose! My journey has been been rewarding both on a personal and professional level, and I just can't imagine doing anything else with my life other than helping others!

I guess that's about all I have for right now. I'm happy to be here and I look forward to future exchanges.

    Hey Bob,
I can relate to the reunion story, been there too.
My biggest revelation was looking in the mirror while getting dressed for that reunion... Who was that guy looking back at me in the mirror? My Father?
