If you’re searching for information on “How many calories should i eat“, let me give you few tips and tricks to get you started with your standard diet regime right away! The vast majority of individuals believe that they take in considerably less calories when they’re just refusing to eat good enough. However it is a misguided process since this reduces the actual metabolic level and also leaves entire body towards undernourishment routine. The effective way would be to manage your caloric intake by consuming proper level of remarkably nutritious food item.
An energetic individual that workouts daily will probably burn up significantly more calories compared to one who is medium active along with significantly less physical exercises. It is suggested to nibble on at least twelve hundred to fifteen hundred calories each day when you need to slim down, although this kind of diet regime simply cannot be adopted for a long time. You must have nicely balanced diet regime with sufficient calorie consumption to remain hale and healthy. You’ll find so many caloric calculators accessible on the internet to calculate the routine caloric wants. When you calculate your current caloric needs, stick to it for one week and begin tracking the improvements in your body fat. Come up with modifications in calorie consumption as needed so you can take care of your body weight like you desire.

I haven't had the problem myself but my wife has had it for years and has even had 2 surgeries. If you start having back problems stop what your doing and get off your feet for a few days. If you don't you could easily damage it worse. For anyone with back problems here is a great site for information. It is actually a back surgery site but has lots of good articles on preventing and dealing with back pain.

I just signed up as a member of this site. I wanted to introduce myself and offer some things I've found true that can solve some common problems Boomers share. I'm sure I can learn a lot from you all, also.

My major interest is health, especially how to stay healthy without diets, drugs, and medical intervention. I just turned 63 and I've managed to stay at roughly the weight I was in college. I'm not on any prescriptions and I feel great.

I have mostly been self-employed, but I also spent some time consulting for the U.S. Department of Commerce and the local Chamber of Commerce, looking for ways to re-employ an isolated, beautiful community after their major employer left town. That taught me some interesting lessons about finding some new employment for the general population.

Lately, I've been developing a new career on the Internet as a writer, trying to contribute some insights I gained that I haven't seen elsewhere. This is an exciting time to be alive, so I'm looking forward to hear what others in this forum have learned.

If you are getting ready to retire be sure and check on what your social security check is going to be and what you can expect from Medicare. Unfortunately it doesn't pay around 20 percent of medical cost so a long term illness could cost you a lot of out of pocket expense if you do not have a supplement. Most retirees get a Medigap supplement to protect themselves. It is low cost and government regulated. Here is a very good article on the subject.

Just wanted to talk about how your fitness routine has changed. I'm a health nut, but I can't keep up with my old routine (too hard on the knees). I've turned to fitness videos; my favorites are by Mirabai Holland, called Moving Free. They're great--I never feel too sore in the morning, and there's no stress on my joints. Check her out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Moving-Free/174976698070?ref=ts if you're lookin' for a good workout!

You might want to consider renting out your empty rooms for extra income and for company. You say that you like the space and the freedom, but there are a lot of lonely baby boomers and seniors who would benefit from having someone in the home to share meals, shopping, watch tv and just to know someone is there when the electricity goes out or you hear noises. It's not that hard to find someone compatible and safe. Just have the people screened before you rent and trust your instincts.

Quiz: What if you reach retirement age with only a paycheck or two in the bank?

Answer 1: Dumbass. Why didn’t you invest?

Answer 2: Dumbass. Why didn’t you plan for retirement?

Answer 3: Dumbass. You expect the world to hand you life on platter?

Okay, I’m a dumbass. But the cruel reality is, I don’t have extended family to move in with. My kids are near starving and they live 2500 miles away. My only other relative is a sister, and she’s broke too. She had the audacity to spend her life as a wife and mother and then a schoolteacher. What a dumbass.

Me, I must take the Dumbass World Cup. I went to college and wanted to do pre-med, but I was discouraged from this because it was so hard for girls to get into medical school in those days. So I studied art (are you kidding?) because in those days everyone thought some guy would marry and provide for you. Alas, no such savior turned up. At twenty nine I went to graduate school in social work, did well and got a job in social work. (What a dumbass! Didn’t anyone tell you what salaries social workers earned?)

Well I spent most of my life doing the work of the angels (or being a sucker, as some would have it) and I just got to a salary level where I could put money aside for retirement a few years ago. I plan to work ‘til I’m seventy so I should have about 100K to provide for my old age. Let’s hope my old age is brief; 100K isn’t much nowadays.

Well, I’m polishing up my tin cup. When the 100K runs out, I plan to beg at rich peoples’ houses. Especially those radical Christians. They make such a big deal of their Christian values, of course they’ll help me out. Right?

Hi all, my name is Deb and I live in the Philadelphia suburbs. My kids are both grown and on their own and I share my home with my cat . I work nights which makes it difficult to meet people, so I spend more than average time on-line. Today I happened upon this forum which looks interesting. Is it active ?

Hi, the name is Bob and this is my introductory posting on this forum. I'm recently retired, living in Portland, Oregon. I'm single, white and jolly. Now there's a word from the past. I don't think anyone under forty has ever used it.

Anyway I'm going to look around this forum to see what it's all about, whether it's active or just sitting here waiting for one more wandering soul to stumble in. See you in netherland. - Bob

If you are caring for an older family member you need to watch for signs of Alzheimer's. The sooner it is noted and treated the better. If you do not know what to look for and what the future holds, here is a good article on what the Alzheimer's caregiver can expect. They don't sell a product.

I realize that, considering most topics of conversation in this forum are not political, what I am about to relate may be a little depressing. Needless to say it should be addressed and should be given proper attention. I am a baby boomer and have become reliant on Social Security. It has been under attack, again, and frankly I am sickened by yet another attempt to undermine it's original intent. So here is my rant and thank you for letting me vent.
Social Security has always been a target and a focus for politicians in resolving national debt, platforms and projects for political restructuring. It has become skewed abominably from it's original intent. It has become the hobby of all politicians when elected to use, abuse and obscure and for some to even borrow from with no promise of payback. It was intended as insurance for retirees and for disabled workers not for arbitrary usury of elected officials. American citizens paid into Social Security and trusted that this would provide or subsidize their essentials in their retirement years.
The government has been irresponsible in how it has handled and managed these funds. They should be held accountable to the people who paid into this and will continue to pay into the Social Security. Despite what these dunderheads think it is not their money to be used however they chose. If they were going do to that why didn't they "invest" it something that was going to generate a profit or benefit those that had/have "invested" (taxed) into it. I think they (government) should have to pay back, at a enormous interest rate, to all who have paid into the Social Security fund. Maybe then I nor anyone else who is currently receiving this measly stipend and would have to rely on the government to mishandle my retirement security.
I know this sounds ridiculous and unrealistic but I am outraged and tired of living in fear of having my economic security blanket pulled out from me at the whim of politicians.
It does not matter to me what political format or platform one subscribe to, it is moot and beside the point. Attacking Social Security is just wrong and it effects the most vulnerable in our cultural. I cannot say this enough and will continue to voice this sentiment in every blog and comment I participate in and that is this: the aged in this country are treated abominably and it is apparent in every politicians agenda and their continual attack on Social Security
