You know, for 57 years I have shared a home with someone, parents, husband, kids. My youngest, 27, just moved out a few weeks ago, finally ! I am having a really hard time getting used to coming home to an empty house. I love it , the freedom to make as much noise as I want at 3 am upon returning home from work , I love cleaning and having it stay clean, the food lasts 5x longer, no dirty dishes in the sink, the toilet paper roll is never left empty, lol. It is rather lonely, this empty nest though. Thanks for forums like this one. Maybe there will often be someone to talk to in the wee lonely hours ?

i know how you feel that's normal
it makes you feel sick when the children are not around, although their already grown-ups we still treat them as little kids

Joe,

Sorry to read that you and your son are estranged. One of you has to make the overture to move forward.

But I still miss him. Even though he's 30+ and we haven't spoken in years, there is still an empty spot where he used to be. <img src="http://babyboomersus.net/my-plugins/pb--bb-smilies/default/icon_sad.gif" title=":(" class="bb_smilies" />
