Just a quick into of myself. I'm Peg, and live in Oklahoma, and am very happy to have found an ACTIVE forum of Boomers. I have been writing (for what ever reason ? ! ? ) a lot of articles and notes on concerns of Baby Boomers lately. I think a lot of the issues have shifted and changed with the political and social climate as it is, and am really enjoying reading all of your comments so far. Look forward to making some Boomer friends on this site. (By the way, in Oklahoma when you say "Boomer", someone will always answer, "Sooners")

Hi Joe,

I just drop by to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Aris Tanone and I'd like to thank Joe for allowing my posts to be listed in Blog Carnival.

Long time ago, when I was a little kid, I thought, someone was very old if s/he was in his/her 60th. Now, I'm one year away and I still could finish running the 5K-run while one year or so ago I was a couch potato. The only think I could say is, thanks God I'm here now.

That's all for now and I will visit this forum from time to time.

Thanks,

Aris/

Hi, the name is Bob and this is my introductory posting on this forum. I'm recently retired, living in Portland, Oregon. I'm single, white and jolly. Now there's a word from the past. I don't think anyone under forty has ever used it.

Anyway I'm going to look around this forum to see what it's all about, whether it's active or just sitting here waiting for one more wandering soul to stumble in. See you in netherland. - Bob

I am stalling while cleaning the house, writing for my own blog, and trying to run out of time before I have to apply myself to 'homework'. I just started back to school to finish my BA after thirty years. I will have it by the end of the year. At various times I've tried to finish it, and even tried to circumvent the system and get my Master's. After all, said I, I have four years--I just left without taking the final finals. No luck. In the meantime, I am awaiting the advent of cool weather here near the devil's tailbone. By next Wednesday temperatures will drop, making field work for the census and the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, more pleasant. I was just beginning to enjoy a little hard-earned unemployment, too.
